Overview

The Senior Business Analyst, Commercial Operations, leads integrated commercial analytics and predictive insight generation across Xeris’ portfolio. This role connects independent data streams, identifies performance drivers, develops business triggers for next-best-action opportunities, and applies advanced analytics to support marketing mix, access, patient journey, and commercial investment decisions. The individual will serve as a cross-functional analytics partner to Commercial, Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, Finance, IT, and external vendors, helping improve revenue predictability, promotional effectiveness, and scalable decision-making across the commercial organization.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize and interpret commercial data across CRM, specialty pharmacy, claims, payer/access, marketing engagement, patient services, finance, and internal performance systems.
• Develop analytical frameworks that translate fragmented data streams into performance drivers, leading indicators, risk signals, and next-best-action triggers.
• Apply predictive analytics and propensity models to identify customer, patient, access, and promotional patterns that inform commercial action.
• Lead marketing mix and promotional effectiveness analytics by evaluating channel performance, investment response, audience engagement, and ROI indicators.
• Partner with Marketing and Finance to assess commercial investment tradeoffs and quantify risks, opportunities, and expected impact.
• Define trigger logic and business rules for commercial alerts, including patient flow disruptions, access friction, adherence risk, promotional response, and underperforming segments.
• Lead patient journey and access analytics by integrating payer, SP, claims, and internal data to identify leakage points and intervention opportunities.
• Strengthen forecast confidence by monitoring leading indicators and attributing demand variance to specific commercial, access, and market factors.
• Translate analytical findings into decision-ready recommendations for commercial leadership, business reviews, and cross-functional planning.
• Partner with Business Technology and vendors to define business requirements for data and analytics infrastructure improvements.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team capability by establishing analytical standards and leading analytical QA processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Analytics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech, or healthcare commercial operations, sales operations, business analytics, finance, or related function.
• Deep experience in commercial analytics within a biopharma or specialty drug context, including promotional effectiveness, field force analytics, or brand performance.
• Hands-on experience working with patient-level and longitudinal data, including specialty pharmacy, claims, hub, or payer datasets.
• Familiarity with syndicated market data platforms such as IQVIA, PantherRx, and similar data sources.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, or R for querying and data analysis
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience with CRM platforms in a biopharma context, with Veeva CRM strongly preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and influence stakeholders across functions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in specialty pharma/ retail pharma/rare disease.
• Working knowledge of targeting/segmentation, call planning and sequencing processes.
• Familiarity with syndicated pharma data sources and field performance data.
• Experience supporting launches, new product planning, or evolving commercial models.

Working Conditions: Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Periodic overnight travel. This is a hybrid role based in Xeris’ Chicago office and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. On-site requirement may change at management’s discretion. Travel expected up to 10%, including periodic overnight travel as business needs require.

 

The level of the position will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $112,000 to $140,000. Final determination of base salary offered will depend on several factors relevant to the position, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, education, market location, and business need. This role will include eligibility for bonus and equity. The total compensation package will also include additional elements such as multiple paid time off benefits, various health insurance options, retirement benefits and more. Details about these and other offerings will be provided at the time a conditional offer of employment is made.
