Overview

The Patient Marketing Manager will play a key role in developing and executing patient marketing strategies that drive disease awareness, engagement, and treatment adherence for individuals living with endogenous Cushing’s syndrome. Responsibilities will span the marketing mix including nonpersonal and live events, ensuring patient market engagement and optimal growth for the brand.

 

The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on marketer with experience in patient engagement, digital marketing, and rare disease or specialty care. This individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including Sales, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Patient Services, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal and Compliance, to ensure all patient initiatives align with brand objectives and Xeris’ commitment to improving patients’ lives.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of strategic patient marketing plans to achieve business objectives, including participation in strategy development and messaging evolution for patient audiences.
  • Lead the development of patient-facing materials and campaigns — including educational resources, digital content, testimonials, videos, brochures, and website content — ensuring a consistent and compliant brand message.
  • Collaborate with patient services and advocacy to support marketing material needs and develop targeted programming.
  • Partner with the HCP marketing team to ensure alignment between professional and patient messaging, creating a seamless and unified experience.
  • Manage patient insights efforts, including focus groups, surveys, and social listening, to ensure marketing materials reflect the authentic patient voice.
  • Ensure timely understanding, measurement and evaluation of brand performance and work collaboratively withing the marketing team to modify tactical plans as needed.
  • Oversee agency partners to develop and execute creative campaigns across digital, print, and social platforms.
  • Partner with Compliance, Regulatory, and Legal teams to ensure all patient communications meet Xeris and FDA/OPDP standards.
  • Support patient advocacy initiatives, including engagement with advocacy organizations and coordination of patient storytelling opportunities.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure high-quality execution and alignment with strategic priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing, with at least 2 years focused on patient or consumer marketing.
  • Experience working within a specialty or rare disease therapeutic area strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies and tactical plans
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical advertising and promotion regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and external agencies in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Familiarity with market research, KPIs, and CRM systems like Veeva
  • Strong ability to derive actionable insights from multiple and complex sources
  • Demonstrated understanding of FDA regulations and guidance regarding advertising and promotion of prescription drug and biologic products.
  • Strong understanding of and hands-on experience in managing workflows through legal and regulatory promotional review process

  • Working Conditions: Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Periodic overnight travel. Willing to travel approximately 15-20%, required for meetings, conferences, and patient engagement events. This is a hybrid role based in Xeris’ Chicago office and requires a minimum of three days per week on-site. On-site requirements may change at management’s discretion.

The level of the position will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $160,000. Final determination of base salary offered will depend on several factors relevant to the position, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, education, market location, and business need. This role will include eligibility for bonus and equity. The total compensation package will also include additional elements such as multiple paid time off benefits, various health insurance options, retirement benefits and more. Details about these and other offerings will be provided at the time a conditional offer of employment is made.
