Overview

The Director, Programs & Alliances will be responsible for program and alliance management of Xeris's development partnerships and programs ensuring high-quality execution. This position is highly collaborative in nature and will manage high-performing cross-functional teams to drive successful completion of goals and objectives for these development partnerships and programs. This position stays focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with strong day-to-day multifunctional operations involvement and helps advance early-stage ideas into future growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Leads project management for active development and commercial partnerships and alliances
• Enables high-quality execution of partnership programs by participating in business development activities to accurately scope partnership proposals
• Serves as a trusted resource to strategic partners by representing Xeris interests, understanding and navigating partner requirements, and proactively ensuring that Xeris and its partners are aligned and plan for successful outcomes.
• Facilitates strategic project discussions and communicates program status and issues to ensure accurate information is available.
• Builds productive and positive relationships across the organization at all levels to drive influence and timely decisions.
• Drives accountability and decision-making in empowered teams, elevating for perspective when required or for company-critical decisions.
• Develops and executes operational plans within agreed timelines and budgets; ensures appropriate mitigation and contingency plans are in place.
• Builds consensus to drive to the best decision possible in a reasonable timeframe among cross-functional teams. Influences decision making with leadership audiences by providing timely analysis and options.
• Provides program status and performance updates to senior leadership.
• Responsible for timelines, minutes, and agendas and assists with budget activities.
• Performs other duties and projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, or other related life sciences.
• 10+ years of program management specifically for pharmaceutical development projects with a concentration in CMC activities OR similar experience within CMC, R&D, Quality, or Regulatory.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the drug or device development process, particularly early-stage formulation development and initial IND submissions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical and device supply chains, various parts of the product development process (formulation, analytical, manufacturing process, and device development), business development for technology partnerships (formulation, device, CDMO, etc.), and alliance management are desired.
• PMP Certification preferred.
• Expert level experience with project management software, Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Broad business understanding and a good awareness of specific industry sectors

Working Conditions: Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Infrequent overnight travel may occur. This is a hybrid role based in Xeris’ Chicago office and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. On-site requirement may change at management’s discretion.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $240,000. Final determination of base salary offered will depend on several factors relevant to the position, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, education, market location, and business need. This role will include eligibility for bonus and equity. The total compensation package will also include additional elements such as multiple paid time off benefits, various health insurance options, retirement benefits and more. Details about these and other offerings will be provided at the time a conditional offer of employment is made.
