Overview

The Patient Services Associate is a critical role within Patient Services, responsible for ongoing management of functions that enable the Xeris sales force to be successful. This role will be the initial point of contact for all Recorlev and Keveyis Referrals, and will support the Patient Access and Sales teams ensure referrals are processed in a timely manner through the specialty pharmacy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage referrals in Patient Services eFax queue for Recorlev/Keveyis rare brands.
    • Comprehensive assessment of each referral to determine completion.
    • Complete soft benefit review to determine insurance eligibility.
    • Communicate with the patient access and sales team regarding referral and benefit/plan requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of each referral in Patient Services system.
  • Triage referral updates between Patient Access and Specialty Pharmacy as needed.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of market access challenges.
  • Maintain and manage strict confidentiality of all information within established guidelines to include maintaining compliance with Xeris policies, procedures, and related regulations.
  • Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of referral documentation.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and compliant referral processing which includes being the intermediary between sales and patient access teams.
  • Effectively collaborate within the team to enhance timely processing of referrals.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• A minimum of 2 years pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry preferred
• Understanding of the healthcare industry, including both private and government payer landscape
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Knowledge of the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and its implementing regulations, as amended (“HIPAA”) and understanding of compliance activities/policies needed to comply with the Act
• Competencies: Attention to Detail, Project Management, Organizational skills, Independent Judgement, Teamwork/Collaboration, Professionalism and Discretion, Interpersonal skills, Written and Verbal Communication skills

 


Working Conditions Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Requires approximately 10% travel, including some overnight commitments. This is a hybrid position based in Xeris’ Chicago office and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. On-site requirement may change at management’s discretion.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $80,000. Final determination of base salary offered will depend on several factors relevant to the position, including but not limited to candidate skills, experience, education, market location, and business need. This role will include eligibility for bonus and equity. The total compensation package will also include additional elements such as multiple paid time off benefits, various health insurance options, retirement benefits and more. Details about these and other offerings will be provided at the time a conditional offer of employment is made.
