Overview

This position assists in the execution of analytical and characterization methods to support pharmaceutical formulation, process, and method development activities. The Analytical Development Intern will work independently and with other members of the team in implementing analytical methods for therapeutic proteins, and monoclonal antibodies drug product formulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and optimizing various protein characterization methods.
  • Analyze and interpret data.
  • Read literature applicable to research and analysis as required.
  • Record instrument data, tabulate data, and keep detailed laboratory records.
  • Perform method robustness and qualification studies.

Qualifications

  • Education level; Currently enrolled in a university, pursing a BS, MS or Ph.D. degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline.
  • General knowledge of drug product development.
  • Previous research/lab experience with analytical chemistry, data management and data analysis software
  • Competencies: Written and Verbal Communication, Teamwork & Collaboration, Attention to Detail, Self-Starter, Analytical skills, Problem Solving, Organizational skills, Adaptability, Professionalism.

Working Conditions

  • Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Periodic overnight travel.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. or more.
  • Adequate vision (corrected or uncorrected) to read fine instruments such as calipers, instrument displays, etc., and perform visual inspection for defects.
  • Position works with potentially hazardous chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients.
  • This role is based in Xeris’ Chicago office and requires five days per week in the office. On-site requirement may change at management’s discretion.
