Overview

We are looking for an intern to join our Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) team. This position will support the team in executing drug development activities for advancing Xeris’ technology platforms.  Some activities will include manufacturing test product in the lab to support trial runs for performance evaluation of a bench tabletop filling machine. Additional activities may include generating technical documentation summaries for equipment operation (i.e. SOPs). The candidate will collaborate with other teams such as Product Development (formulation/analytical), Device Development, Supply Chain and Commercial Manufacturing which will provide them exposure to the various functions and responsibilities within the PDTO department.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineer/scientist in executing filling trial runs of test product
  • Data management, trending and analysis
  • Develop procedures/work instructions for operation, maintenance of the filling machine.
  • Compiling of executed batch record information, in process testing and release data for manufacturing trials to be included in a report
  • Support MS&T team on other development programs as needed

Qualifications

  • Education level; enrolled in an undergraduate program in an engineering or scientific field
  • Skills required
    • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Data Analysis
  • Skills preferred (as applicable)
    • Knowledge of pharmaceutical processes and unit operations
    • Technical Writing
    • Data Management
    • Working in a lab environment. Understanding of laboratory guidelines and principles.

Working Conditions

  • Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Periodic overnight travel.
  • This role is based in Xeris’ Chicago office and requires five days per week in the office. On-site requirement may change at management’s discretion.
