Overview

The Diabetes Camp Intern position is an essential role in supporting our Medical Operations Team and ensuring smooth operations for our summer diabetes camp initiative. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who works well in a collaborative environment and is eager to make a meaningful impact in the diabetes community. As identified and under supervision by manager, this role will also gain exposure to operations, systems, programs, and processes that enable efficient and compliant operations across Medical Affairs.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Manager, Medical Operations for daily updates, accomplishments, and any issues that require attention.
  • Manage tracker for all submitted product donation applications.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross functional teams to review submitted donation applications.
  • Assist with shipment tracking to ensure donations are shipped in alignment with requested delivery date.
  • Facilitate communications with camp administrators to provides status updates and follow-ups as needed.
  • Provide excellent Medical Affairs experience when communicating with external partners
  • As opportunities arise during the internship, may gain further learnings and understandings related to advocacy and healthcare community engagements
  • Understanding administrative responsibilities, including training requirements.
  • Shadow various members of the Medical Affairs team and other cross-functional partners as identified.
  • Actively participate in all Summer Intern programming and initiatives

Qualifications

  • Education level; High school diploma or equivalent
  • Skills required:
    • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.)
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Competencies: Teamwork & Collaboration, Attention to Detail, Self-Starter, Problem, Strong organizational and time management abilities, Adaptability, Professionalism, Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively, Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.

Working Conditions

  • Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations.
  • Willingness to travel locally up to 10% as assigned during internship.
  • This role is based in Xeris’ Chicago office and requires five days per week in the office. On-site requirement may change at management’s discretion.
